Online Safety Act

The Online Safety Act is legislation designed to enhance the safety of internet users. It mandates that online 'user-to-user' services and search engines take proactive measures to monitor and control the content that is published on their platforms. This Act, which was passed by the Parliament of the United Kingdom on 26 October 2023, aims to protect users from harmful content online. Similarly, Australia's Online Safety Act 2021 imposes obligations on online service providers to monitor and reduce online harm on their platforms.
